Hey friend! Thanks for stopping by! My name is Alison Keber. I am an Austin, Texas based Interior Designer and Founder of 31 Interiors.
I have personally had a love for design, decor and organization for as long as I can remember. My mom often tells stories of my times of being a 9 year old latchkey kid when she would often come home from work and I had either reworked the furniture in our house or I had organized another closet or had a design idea I would have prepared to present to her!
Although I have always had a love for design, this is not the initial path I took in life. I'm also a lover of people and I'm a "helper" by nature. This love of people led me to a psychology degree. While putting myself through college full time, I also had a full time job in property/asset management. This is where I would continue to work for nearly 13 years. In that industry I had the opportunity to help not only manage large assets, but I also had the honor to help design new builds and renovations, walk through the process from start to finish of building and re-building, as well help design and stage future homes.
When I started having children (we now have 3!) I longed for the ability to stay at home and raise my children, but I also longed to help provide for our family along side my husband. That's when we started our own side business in building a successful health and wellness company. We still own that business to date and it has led way for both of us have follow our true calling; (him) mortgage and (me) interiors!
I believe every home is a REFLECTION of the people who dwell in it. That reflection can be seen in family photos on the walls, exotic art, or a reupholstered grandfather chair with a backstory. Over the years, most of us acquire objects that make us feel something. We place them carefully in our homes so that we can stay connected to the experience of life that they represent.
